eufy Installation in London: Doorbells, Cameras, HomeBase and NVR
Updated
eufy kits are made to fit yourself, and the hard part is rarely the screws. It is a bell transformer too weak for the doorbell, a HomeBase on the wrong side of a solid-brick wall, or a floodlight that has to go on the mains. A vetted local pro on Jack All Trades (JACK) fits and sets up the eufy devices you have bought, on a day you choose, for a fixed price you see before you book.
In short
eufy runs no installation service in the UK; in London, vetted Jack All Trades (JACK) pros fit the eufy kits you have bought, from video doorbells and eufyCams to the Floodlight Camera E340, HomeBase hubs and PoE NVR systems. Battery and solar devices need no wiring, wired doorbells use your existing bell wire (often with a stronger transformer and a plug-in eufy chime), and the floodlight is wired to the mains in place of an existing outside light. eufy's UK store now lives on anker.com/uk, and the JACK app shows you a fixed price before you book.
eufy Security by Anker sells its cameras and doorbells for self-installation, and its UK support runs by phone, email and live chat rather than visits. Send the model or kit name, photos of where each device will go, the transformer label or old outside light if there is one, and where your router sits. A pro prices the job for the kit you actually have, tests the Wi-Fi or HomeBase signal before drilling, and sets everything up in your own eufy account.
The guides below cover each kind of eufy device: how it is powered, what the pro checks first and what to send before you book.

Which eufy devices do JACK pros fit?
The eufy devices on the UK store that need fixing, wiring or setting up, and the older ones still found in London homes:
- Video doorbells: the E340, S4 Wired, C31, C30 and S330 battery doorbell, with the transformer and chime sorted
- Battery and solar cameras: eufyCam S4, S3 Pro, C35 and C37 kits, SoloCams and the 4G LTE Cam S330, fixed high with any solar panel in the sun
- The Floodlight Camera E340, wired to the mains where an outside light is now
- HomeBase S380, HomeBase Mini and HomeBase Professional S1: sited and updated, with a hard drive fitted in the S380 or Pro S1
- PoE systems: the NVR Security System S4 Max, S4 and E50, with cable run through brick, loft or garage
- Indoor and window cameras, Chime 2 and MiniBase Chime, entry and motion sensors, and the Smart Display E10
- Older kit such as eufyCam 2 and 3, the 2K wired doorbells and the Floodlight Cam 2 Pro: moved, re-paired or replaced
You buy the devices, from eufy's store, Amazon or any other shop; JACK does not sell them. eufy sells no intercom in the UK, so in a block of flats the entry-phone stays as it is.
Why does the HomeBase's position matter so much in a London house?
eufyCam kits such as the S3 Pro, C35 and C37 talk to their HomeBase by radio rather than to your router, and the walls of an older London house are what that radio has to get through:
- eufy's guidance puts a camera 3–5 m from the HomeBase for the best signal, and says that beyond 15 m the link is likely too weak
- Thick brick, solid wood doors and metal roller doors weaken it; concrete, steel doors and steel beams stop it
- In a terrace the router is often at the front or the back, so a camera at the end of the garden may have the whole house between it and the hub
- The fix is usually placement rather than more kit: the HomeBase moved to the middle of the house on a network cable, or a mesh node halfway
eufy doorbells and British bell transformers often do not match
The power a eufy doorbell asks for and what a British bell system supplies are often two different numbers:
- Many British bell transformers give 8 V at about 8 VA, and they sit in the consumer unit, inside a mains chime or in a box of their own
- To keep an E340 charged, eufy asks for 8–24 V at more than 10 VA, and for 24/7 recording the C31 needs 16–24 V at 30 VA
- The S4 Wired needs 16–24 VAC at 10 VA or more, by eufy's Irish product page, and the older wired doorbells 16–24 VAC at 30 VA
- Some set-ups need the old chime bypassed, such as the C31 in 24/7 mode, so a plug-in Chime 2 or MiniBase Chime takes its place indoors
In England, a transformer swapped on its existing supply, or fed from a fused spur on an existing circuit, is not notifiable. The pro reads your label from a photo first, and any transformer or chime is agreed at cost before you book.
eufy doorbell transformer and chime in UK homesWhat needs a registered electrician, and what can a JACK pro do?
In England, three kinds of electrical work are notifiable under Part P, and JACK does not book them as part of a eufy job:
- A new circuit from the consumer unit; JACK treats a doorbell transformer on a new way in it the same
- A new or replacement consumer unit
- Any addition or alteration near a bath or shower
Those need a registered electrician. The rest of a eufy job is for a vetted JACK pro: battery and solar devices, a doorbell on existing bell wire, a transformer swapped on the same supply or fed from a fused spur, PoE cabling, and the Floodlight Camera E340 in place of an existing outside light on the same circuit, with a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate. For that floodlight, eufy's own UK page says that outside North America 'installation and wiring must be performed by a licensed electrician'. The UK has no such licence, so this is eufy's condition rather than the law, and the floodlight page explains how JACK handles it.
Do you need an electrician to install eufy?Privacy settings the pro switches on before leaving
eufy's defaults changed in 2023, and a few settings are worth checking on every install:
- Text-only notifications, eufy's default since January 2023, unless you choose thumbnail previews, which eufy says are sent to its cloud
- Video kept on the device or the HomeBase, with eufy's optional cloud backup left off unless you want it
- Two-factor login on your eufy account
- Privacy zones over a neighbour's windows or garden, up to two per camera, and activity zones that leave out the pavement and road
- Each camera aimed at your own property, since GOV.UK says data protection law applies once a camera records people beyond your boundary
eufy smart locks are not sold for UK doors
eufy's UK store lists no smart locks, and the ones it sells elsewhere are built for North American door preparation:
- eufy's lock requirements: a door 35–55 mm thick, a 60 or 70 mm backset, a 38–54 mm cross-bore and a 25 mm edge hole, on a wooden door rather than glass or a slider
- A typical London front door is uPVC or composite with a multipoint lock turned by a euro cylinder, or timber with a nightlatch and a mortice deadlock, and neither has a cross-bore
- Drilling a cross-bore through a multipoint door could weaken it
JACK pros fit smart locks designed for UK doors instead, and your eufy doorbell and cameras carry on as they are.
Can you fit a eufy smart lock on a UK door?Choosing between Ring and eufy?
Both need a signal test at the door and a look at the bell transformer before anything is drilled; they differ in where video is stored, which hub they use and how the chime works. One comparison page sets those side by side from each maker's UK pages.
Ring vs eufy: what is different to installWhich eufy setup do you have?
Most eufy homes fit one of four patterns, and each needs something different from your house before the pro arrives.
| Setup | Typical eufy kit | Where video is stored | What your home needs | What the pro does |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HomeBase S380 (HomeBase 3) | eufyCam S3 Pro kits and older eufyCam 3 and 3C kits; optional for the E340 doorbell, eufyCam S4 and SoloCam S340 | 16 GB in the hub, up to 16 TB with a 5 V 2.5-inch SATA drive | A router port for set-up, a socket, and a shelf 1–1.5 m high near the middle of the house | Sites it, fits the drive, updates the firmware, pairs each camera close by and then mounts it |
| HomeBase Mini | eufyCam C35 and C37 kits | 8 GB in the hub, plus microSD up to 1 TB | A 5 V, 2 A adapter, a cable to the router and a flat shelf | Checks the adapter, cables it, pairs each camera on 2.4 GHz within 3 m, then places them |
| Standalone, no hub | Video Doorbell E340, C30 and C31, eufyCam S4, SoloCam S340, Floodlight Camera E340, 4G LTE Cam S330 | On the device or a microSD card; eufy's UK page does not say where the 4G camera keeps video | Strong Wi-Fi at each spot, mostly on 2.4 GHz, or mobile signal for the 4G camera | Tests the signal at the exact spot, fits a microSD card where needed and sets storage in the app |
| PoE NVR | NVR Security System S4 Max and S4, NVR E50 | On the NVR's hard drive: 2 TB fitted on the S4 systems, up to 16 TB | A Cat cable from every camera to the NVR, plus a socket and a router connection indoors | Plans and runs the cables, drills and seals the walls, and sets up 24/7 recording |
The model code on the box or device settles which row is yours: T8030, for example, is the HomeBase S380.
Every eufy product guide
One guide per model: how it is powered, what the installation involves, what the pro checks and what to send before you book.
| Product | Type | What the guide covers |
|---|---|---|
| Video Doorbell E340 | Doorbells | The dual-camera E340 (T8214): a removable battery pack or bell wiring, and wired it can ring your existing chime. |
| S4 Wired Video Doorbell | Doorbells | eufy's 2026 wired-only S4: 16–24 VAC at 10 VA or more, Chime 2 in the box, 24/7 recording to its own storage. |
| Video Doorbell C31 | Doorbells | The C31 (T8223): battery or bell wiring, and 24/7 with pre-roll once it has 16–24 V at 30 VA and the old chime is bypassed. |
| Video Doorbell C30 | Doorbells | The battery-only C30 (T8224): no wiring, no old chime, so it rings a Chime 2, MiniBase Chime, HomeBase or smart speaker. |
| Video Doorbell S330 | Doorbells | The battery dual-cam S330 (T8213) and its HomeBase 2; not the older wired S330 Dual (T8203) that shares the name. |
| eufyCam S3 Pro | Security cameras | The solar eufyCam S3 Pro kits (camera T8162): HomeBase S380 only, 2.4 GHz only, mounted 2–3 m up in the sun. |
| eufyCam S4 | Security cameras | eufy's dual-camera eufyCam S4 (T8172): a 4K bullet and a 2K pan-tilt in one body, solar-charged, with no HomeBase needed. |
| SoloCam S340 | Security cameras | The SoloCam S340 (T8170): a standalone dual-lens pan-tilt camera with a sealed battery and a removable solar panel. |
| 4G LTE Cam S330 | Security cameras | The 4G LTE Cam S330 (T86P2): a solar 4K pan-tilt camera with a UK SIM, for spots your Wi-Fi does not reach. |
| Floodlight Camera E340 | Floodlight cameras | The only floodlight camera on sale on eufy's UK store in October 2026 (T8425): mains-wired where your outside light is now, with no junction box in the box. |
| NVR Security System S4 Max | PoE and NVR systems | The S4 Max kit: four PoE Cam S4 bullet-and-PTZ cameras on an 8-port recorder with a 2 TB drive, all on Ethernet. |
How eufy installation is priced
A vetted pro prices your job from the eufy model, photos of where each device goes and what power is there now, and the JACK app shows you that fixed price before you book.
The power and the walls move the price more than the device does. A battery doorbell on a brick reveal, or a SoloCam on a fence post, is a smaller job. An S4 Wired doorbell on a new transformer, a HomeBase moved to the middle of the house with a hard drive fitted, a Floodlight Camera E340 in place of an outside light, or four PoE cameras cabled through solid brick and a loft all take longer, and the price reflects that.
The eufy kit is yours to buy, since JACK sells no devices. A stronger transformer, a Chime 2, a wedge, a floodlight's weatherproof box or extra Cat cable is agreed with you and added at cost before you book, and several devices go on one booking for one price. Where parking has to be paid for, that is added at cost and agreed before you book too.
Prefer to pay for time? As a guide, smart home work is typically £45–£95 per hour, and electrical work such as a floodlight camera £55–£110 per hour. For a multi-camera system or a PoE NVR, a full-day booking is a flat £350–£400 for up to 8 hours on site.
How it works
Step 1
Send the kit and the spots
Name the eufy model or kit (the T-code on the box helps) and add photos of each wall, door or light it is going on, plus the transformer label and chime for a wired doorbell and a photo of your router.
Step 2
See the price, pick a time
A vetted pro prices the job from what you sent, with any transformer, chime, junction box or cable listed at cost. Book when you are happy with it; evenings and weekends are available when pros have them.
Step 3
Fitted, paired and handed over
The pro updates the HomeBase, pairs each device, fixes it at the right height, sets motion and privacy zones and shows you round the eufy app. You follow it all in the JACK app.

Frequently asked questions
Who installs eufy cameras and doorbells in London?
In London, Jack All Trades (JACK) books vetted local pros who fit and set up the eufy doorbells, cameras, floodlight cameras, HomeBase hubs and PoE NVR systems you have already bought. eufy itself does not offer an installation service in the UK: its UK support is phone, email and live chat. Send the model and a few photos in the JACK app and you see a fixed price before you book.
Does eufy need a subscription?
Not for local storage. eufy's HomeBase S380 page promises 'Expandable Local Storage, No Monthly Fee', and doorbells and cameras that record to their own memory or a microSD card work without a plan. eufy's newer UK pages add that cloud storage and thumbnail previews send video or images to its cloud, and that optional or premium features may need a monthly subscription; its UK store sells optional monthly Cloud Backup plans, from Basic for one device to Plus for more. The 4G LTE Cam S330 also uses mobile data, about 700 MB a month in typical use.
How far can a eufy camera be from the HomeBase?
eufy says most cameras work within about 9 m of the HomeBase, with 3–5 m the best spot. Between 5 and 15 m there should be no more than two walls in the way, and beyond 15 m the signal is likely too weak. Solid brick, thick concrete and steel cut that down, so in an older London house the pro checks the signal at each mounting point and moves the HomeBase or adds a mesh node before drilling.
Do I need an electrician for a eufy floodlight camera?
Not by law in England if the Floodlight Camera E340 replaces an existing outside light on the same circuit: that is not notifiable, so a JACK pro who does electrical work can fit it and leave a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate. eufy's own UK page is stricter: outside North America, it says, 'installation and wiring must be performed by a licensed electrician'. The UK has no electrician's licence, and if you want to follow eufy's line to the letter, an electrician registered with a competent person scheme can do the wiring. A new circuit is notifiable and needs a registered electrician, which JACK does not book as part of the job.
Can you install eufy in a flat?
Yes, with the building's agreement where it is needed. A battery doorbell or an indoor camera needs no wiring, but the outside wall, the communal corridor and a fire-rated flat entrance door are usually the freeholder's or managing agent's business, and a fire door is not drilled for cables without their say. The Window Camera E10 avoids the outside wall altogether by filming through the glass from inside.
Can you fit a eufy kit I bought on Amazon or from another shop?
Yes. Where you bought it makes no difference: the pro fits the kit you have and sets it up in your own eufy account. Older models such as eufyCam 2 and 3 are no longer on eufy's UK store, so send the model code from the box and the pro will check which hub and power it needs before the visit. For a eufy smart lock, read the smart-lock guide first.
Do you set up older eufyCam systems?
Yes. eufyCam 2, 2C and 2 Pro systems run on a HomeBase 2, eufyCam 3 and 3C on a HomeBase 3, and the older 2K and 2K Pro wired doorbells keep video on the doorbell itself and do not work with HomeBase 3. A pro can move them to a new house, re-pair them after a router change, or plan which parts to keep when you add newer eufy cameras.
Can eufy be trusted?
That is your call, and the record is this: eufy had a privacy problem in 2022, changed its defaults in 2023, and now says video is stored locally and cloud features are opt-in. In late 2022 a security researcher reported that some eufy cameras sent notification thumbnails to eufy's cloud and that streams from its web portal could be opened without end-to-end encryption. In early 2023 eufy made text-only alerts the default, moved web viewing to encrypted WebRTC and started a bug bounty, and in January 2025 three US companies that distribute eufy products settled with the New York Attorney General for $450,000 and agreed to keep a security programme with regular vulnerability testing. When a JACK pro sets up your system, they can switch on text-only alerts, local-only storage, two-factor login and privacy zones.
Do you sell eufy devices or bring the kit?
No. JACK supplies no devices, so the eufy kit is bought by you, from any shop. If the job needs a part such as a transformer, a chime, a wedge or a weatherproof box, the pro lists it in the quote at cost, agreed with you before you book.
Can you fit a eufy smart lock on my front door?
Probably not, and you cannot buy one from eufy's UK store, which sells none. eufy's locks are made for North American door preparation, with a 38–54 mm cross-bore drilled through the door face, while a typical London front door is uPVC or composite with a multipoint lock and a euro cylinder, or timber with a mortice deadlock. JACK pros fit smart locks designed for UK doors instead.
Is Jack All Trades part of eufy or Anker?
No. Jack All Trades (JACK) is an independent London service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by eufy or Anker Innovations. eufy product names are used only to say which devices pros install.
Do you cover outside London?
No. Jack All Trades books vetted pros in London only. The eufy guides on this site explain power, chimes and HomeBase siting for any UK home, but we cannot send a pro outside London.
