eufy Video Doorbell C30 Installation in London

Updated

The Video Doorbell C30 is model T8224, sold on eufy's UK store as Video Doorbell C30 – 2K Battery doorbell camera; the store also lists a bundle with the Simple Chime, its name for Chime 2. Its battery is built in and it has no wiring option, so it suits a door with no bell wire at all. A JACK pro in London fixes it to brick, render or timber, pairs the indoor chime and checks the signal, for one fixed price agreed before booking.

In short

Yes. JACK pros in London fit the eufy Video Doorbell C30, a battery-only doorbell: eufy gives it no wiring option and says it is not compatible with an existing chime, so the job needs no transformer and it rings a Chime 2, MiniBase Chime, HomeBase or Alexa or Google speaker instead. It connects over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only.

How the Video Doorbell C30 is powered and mounted

The C30 is the plainest eufy doorbell to fit: a bracket on the wall or frame, the doorbell on the bracket, and no bell wire or transformer anywhere in the job. The battery is built in rather than a pack that slides out, so charging means bringing the whole doorbell indoors, and the pro fits it so it comes off its bracket easily.

Inside, it needs a chime of its own. eufy's UK FAQ rules out an existing chime, so a Chime 2, a MiniBase Chime, a HomeBase S280 or S380, or an Alexa or Google speaker does the ringing. eufy also lets the C30 ring a Chime 2 that sits on a different network from the doorbell, which helps in a home with more than one network name.

With no cable to run, the C30 suits a rented home or a leasehold flat, though the bracket still means a few holes in a wall or frame you may not own.

What the pro checks first

  • The 2.4 GHz signal on the step with the front door shut, since the door and the wall around it stand between the doorbell and the router
  • Whether you own the wall and frame, or need the landlord's or freeholder's agreement to drill them
  • What will ring indoors: a Chime 2, MiniBase Chime, HomeBase or smart speaker, because the C30 cannot use the old chime
  • Where recordings will live: a microSD card of up to 128 GB, or a HomeBase S380
  • In a block of flats, whether your front door is a fire door

What the pro does on the Video Doorbell C30

  • Doorbell charged in full before fitting, as the battery is built in
  • Bracket fixed to the wall or frame beside the door at about 1.2 m, eufy's usual doorbell height, rather than to the door itself
  • Plugs chosen for solid brick, render or blockwork; a timber frame takes screws direct
  • Indoor chime plugged in and paired, on the doorbell's network or, for a Chime 2, a different one
  • microSD card formatted in the eufy app, or the C30 added to your HomeBase S380
  • Activity zones kept to your own step and path, away from the pavement

How the Video Doorbell C30 installation goes

  1. 1C30 charged and set up in the eufy app on your 2.4 GHz network
  2. 2Signal checked on the doorstep with the front door closed
  3. 3Bracket position marked, drilled and plugged for the wall, or screwed to a timber frame
  4. 4Doorbell fitted to the bracket, then released and refitted once to show you how it comes off for charging
  5. 5Chime 2, MiniBase Chime, HomeBase or smart speaker paired as the indoor chime
  6. 6Storage chosen, zones drawn and a test press made from the step

Before you book: what to send

  • A photo of the front door with the frame and the wall either side in shot
  • Whether your C30 came on its own or in the bundle with Simple Chime
  • Which indoor chime you plan to use, and a photo of the socket it would go in
  • For a flat or rented home, whether the landlord or freeholder has agreed to the drilling
  • JACK pros fit the C30 you have bought, as JACK does not sell it; if a Chime 2 or MiniBase Chime is still needed, it is added at cost once you have agreed it, before booking

Can you fit a C30 to a flat or rented home?

Usually, because nothing is wired. The bracket still needs drilling, and a doorbell in a block records more than your own door:

  • Renting: check the tenancy, as many need the landlord's agreement before anything is fixed to the front of the home
  • Leasehold: the front door and the wall outside it can belong to the freeholder rather than you, so written consent from the freeholder or managing agent comes first
  • Fire doors: gov.uk's guidance on the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 says residents who want to alter their flat's front door should do so with the knowledge and agreement of the building's Responsible Person, so the pro fixes to the wall beside the door and touches the door or frame only once that agreement is in place
  • Shared corridors: gov.uk's domestic CCTV guidance says data protection law applies once a camera captures people beyond your own property, so the view is kept to your door and zones block out the rest

Frequently asked questions

Can the eufy C30 be wired to my doorbell wires?

No. eufy gives the C30 no wiring option: it runs only on its built-in 5,000 mAh battery. For a eufy doorbell on your bell wires, the E340 and C31 take battery or wired power, and the S4 Wired runs from wiring alone.

How do I hear the C30 indoors if it won't ring my old chime?

Pair it with eufy's Chime 2 or MiniBase Chime, which both plug into a socket, or with a HomeBase S280 or S380, or an Alexa or Google speaker. eufy's UK store also lists a C30 bundle with Chime 2, called Simple Chime there, though it showed as sold out on 31 October 2026.

Does the C30 need a HomeBase?

No. It records to a microSD card of up to 128 GB, bought separately. A HomeBase S380 is optional, for keeping its recordings alongside those of eufy cameras.

How much does eufy Video Doorbell C30 installation cost in London?

It is a fixed price for your Video Doorbell C30, worked out by a vetted pro from the model, a photo of where it is going and what power is there now, and shown in the JACK app before you book. Other devices can go on the same booking for one price. If you would rather pay for time, hourly hire for smart home is typically £45–£95 per hour as a guide.
