You get a fixed price for your PAX build in the Jack All Trades (JACK) app before you book — priced on your actual order.
Tell JACK what you ordered — how many frames, hinged or sliding doors, and roughly what is going inside (drawers, rails, shelves, lighting). A screenshot of your IKEA order or the product links works perfectly, and you see the fixed price before you book.
The main factors are the number of frames, the door type — sliding doors take real time to align — and how many KOMPLEMENT interiors are on the list. The price is confirmed before you book, and it does not move on the day.

- Ceiling check: 236cm frames need roughly 240cm of clear height to tip upright — measure before you order, or ask JACK in the app and get an answer before you spend anything
- Sliding doors are one of the trickiest flat-pack jobs there is — rail alignment to the millimetre, or they derail and grind
- Corner units and multi-frame runs need the frames joined true, or the doors never line up
- Tall 236cm frames and long multi-frame runs are heavy to tip up and move into line: mention them when you book so the build can be planned, and if the job needs a second pair of hands, your pro can ask another pro on JACK to help through the Pro2Pro feature
- Frames can be scribed and trimmed to clear skirting boards, coving, and sloped ceilings
- Wall anchoring into brick or plasterboard is done with the right fixings for your wall, not the one-size plug in the bag

Moving with a PAX?
PAX does not survive being dragged in one piece. Pros on Jack All Trades disassemble your wardrobe flat, label the hardware, and rebuild it square in the new bedroom — book both ends in the app, or fold it into a full-day handyman booking on moving day.
Frequently asked questions
Can one person build a PAX?
IKEA says two, and they mean it — the frames are heavy and tipping a tall unit upright alone is how walls and wardrobes get damaged. Pros use the right lifting technique to stand the frames up; for big multi-frame runs, mention the number of frames and your ceiling height in the app so the build is planned properly.
Do you fit KOMPLEMENT interiors and lighting?
Yes — drawers, rails, shelves, trays, and lighting are all part of the build. List what you ordered and it is all included in the fixed price.

How long does PAX wardrobe assembly take?
A single frame with hinged doors takes about 2 hours. A double frame with sliding doors is usually 3-4 hours, and big multi-frame runs with full interiors can be a full morning or more. Your fixed price and slot length are confirmed before you book.
Do you secure the wardrobe to the wall?
Always, and it is included in your fixed price. A PAX is over two metres of top-heavy wardrobe, and IKEA's own instructions call for anchoring. Your pro uses fixings suited to your wall — brick, block, or plasterboard — not just the plugs in the packet.
Can you trim a PAX to fit my room?
Yes. Frames can be scribed around skirting, trimmed a few centimetres to clear coving or a sloped ceiling, and fitted with filler panels for a built-in alcove look. Describe the space and share photos in the app so the pro brings the right tools.
My ceiling is 240cm — will the tall PAX fit?
It is tight: a 236cm frame needs roughly 240cm of clear height to tip upright after being built on the floor. Sometimes the answer is building it upright in place, sometimes the 201cm frame is the safe call. Ask JACK in the app with your ceiling height before you order.
Sliding doors or hinged — which should I order?
Hinged doors are cheaper, simpler, and offer soft-close. Sliding doors save floor space in tight bedrooms but are the trickiest part of any PAX build — which is exactly why people book a pro. Either way, doors are aligned properly before the pro leaves.
What if parts are missing or damaged?
Your pro checks parts at the start and tells you straight away, builds everything that can be built, and it is flagged in the app so the return trip to finish is quick once IKEA sends the missing bits.
Is Jack All Trades part of IKEA?
No. Jack All Trades (JACK) is an independent London service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by IKEA. IKEA product names such as PAX, MALM and METOD are used only to describe the furniture pros build.
Do you assemble other IKEA furniture in the same visit?
Yes — add anything else to the same booking: MALM drawers, a bed frame, BILLY shelving, a desk. If the pile is big enough, a full-day handyman booking is usually the better-value way to clear it all at once.
