eufy Security Camera Installation in London
Updated
eufy's outdoor cameras are mostly battery and solar, so the skill is in the spot: out of reach, in enough sun, and close enough to the HomeBase to hold a signal through London brick. A vetted JACK pro tests each spot, fixes the cameras and pairs them to the right hub, for a fixed price before you book.
In short
A vetted Jack All Trades (JACK) pro in London installs the eufy cameras you have bought, from eufyCam S4 and S3 Pro kits to the C35, C37, SoloCams and 4G LTE Cam S330; most run on a battery, many topped up by solar, so they need no wiring or outdoor socket. What they do need is the right hub and a signal: the S3 Pro works only with a HomeBase S380 and the C35 kit pairs with the HomeBase Mini packed with it, while the S4 and SoloCam S340 record on their own. For the S3 Pro, eufy asks for 2–3 m of height and at least 1.5 hours of direct sun a day on its built-in panel.
Send the camera or kit name, a photo of each wall you want covered, which way that wall faces, where the router and any HomeBase sit indoors, and whether a ladder can stand safely below each spot. For a larger system, say how many cameras so the pro can plan the day.

eufy security cameras pros install
Each guide covers how the model is powered and mounted, what the pro does and what to send before booking.
eufyCam S3 Pro installation
The solar eufyCam S3 Pro kits (camera T8162): HomeBase S380 only, 2.4 GHz only, mounted 2–3 m up in the sun.
eufyCam S4 installation
eufy's dual-camera eufyCam S4 (T8172): a 4K bullet and a 2K pan-tilt in one body, solar-charged, with no HomeBase needed.
SoloCam S340 installation
The SoloCam S340 (T8170): a standalone dual-lens pan-tilt camera with a sealed battery and a removable solar panel.
4G LTE Cam S330 installation
The 4G LTE Cam S330 (T86P2): a solar 4K pan-tilt camera with a UK SIM, for spots your Wi-Fi does not reach.
Which eufy cameras do JACK pros install?
Beyond the models with their own guides above, these eufy cameras are on the UK store too:
- eufyCam kits on a HomeBase: the C35 and C37 on a HomeBase Mini, and the E40 kit on a HomeBase 2
- SoloCams such as the S220, E30 and E42, which need no HomeBase, though several can join one
- Light cameras: the S4 4K Solar Wall Light Camera, the Solar Wall Light Cam S120 and the TrackLight Cam S1, on pre-order
- The outdoor Wired Cam C31, and the Window Camera E10, on pre-order, which films out through the glass
- Indoor cameras: S350, E30, E220, C210 and C220
Older kits such as eufyCam 2, eufyCam 3 and the E330 Professional are no longer on the UK store but are still in use, and they are fitted, moved and re-paired too.
Older eufy systems JACK pros still set up and moveHow high should a eufy camera go?
High enough to stay out of reach, low enough to see faces, and somewhere you can get to again for charging:
- eufyCam S3 Pro: eufy's guide says 2–3 m up, with a 12 m field of view
- TrackLight Cam S1: 2.5–3.5 m up, with at least 8 cm of clear wall either side
- Planning: the permitted development rules for security cameras on a house (Class F) expect every part of the camera to be at least 2.5 m above the ground, with no more than four on one side of the building, and they do not cover a listed building
- Charging: a battery camera at 3 m means a ladder each time it runs low, so where the sun is weak the pro picks a spot you can reach safely
The Planning Portal says planning permission is not normally needed for a home security camera, and that people in a listed building or a conservation area should check with their council first.
Will solar keep a eufy camera charged in a London garden?
eufy's own figures are the starting point, and London's terraces and winters are where they get tested:
- eufyCam S3 Pro: the built-in panel collects 450–900 mAh a day against 100–200 mAh of use, provided the whole panel gets at least 1.5 hours of sun; under eaves, eufy says to use the external panel from the kit
- eufyCam S4: the 5.5 W detachable panel with SolarPlus 2.0 needs about an hour of direct sun a day
- eufyCam C37: eufy warns that less than 2 hours of sun in cold weather may not keep it powered
- TrackLight Cam S1: the panel's 2 m cable must not be extended; beyond that, eufy says to use a 5 V, 2 A USB-C supply
A north-facing front wall, or a back garden shaded by the next terrace, may never see that hour of sun in December. The pro checks which way each wall faces and where shadows fall, and mounts the panel apart from the camera where the model allows.
Why does a eufyCam fail to pair, and how does the pro avoid it?
Pairing problems are nearly always about the network, not the camera:
- 2.4 GHz: the S3 Pro, C35, SoloCam S220 and SoloCam E42 use 2.4 GHz only, and eufy tells C37 owners to pair on 2.4 GHz, not 5 GHz
- Distance while syncing: eufy says to keep an S3 Pro within 1 m of the HomeBase S380, and a C37 within 3 m of its HomeBase, while pairing
- Firmware first: a HomeBase S380 needs V3.7.2.8 or later before a eufyCam S4 will record 24/7 or take snapshots, and V3.7.8.4 before a C37 will connect
- Signal at the mount: the camera's signal is read in the eufy app at the final spot, not at the back door, before any hole is drilled
Window, indoor and wired cameras look simple, but each has a catch
The cameras that need no ladder still need some thought:
- Window Camera E10: eufy says frosted or patterned glass will not do, and thick double or triple glazing can show glare at the edges
- Indoor cameras: the S350 uses Wi-Fi 6 on 2.4 or 5 GHz, while the E30 is 2.4 GHz only; each is set so it does not look into a neighbour's window
- Wired Cam C31: outdoors, its power cable needs a route to a socket, usually indoors through a sealed hole, and a new outdoor socket is electrical work, priced as such
- Rooms: the pro will not fit a camera in a bathroom, and suggests telling anyone who works in your home where the indoor cameras are
Cameras should watch your property, not the neighbours'
GOV.UK's domestic CCTV guidance says data protection law applies to you once a camera captures people beyond your boundary. Before the pro leaves:
- Each camera is aimed at your own path, garden, bins or car and checked on the live view
- Activity zones leave out the pavement and road, which eufy also suggests to save battery
- Privacy zones cover a neighbour's window or garden: eufy allows up to two per camera, and warns that activity inside one may still be partly recorded
Which hub does each eufy camera need?
From each camera's page on eufy's UK store. eufy adds compatibility through firmware, so the pro updates the HomeBase before pairing anything.
| eufy camera | Hub it works with | Storage on its own | Power |
|---|---|---|---|
| eufyCam S3 Pro | HomeBase S380 only; not HomeBase 2 | None: video goes to the S380 | Built-in solar, plus an external panel in the 2-camera kit |
| eufyCam S4 | No hub needed; S380 adds storage (V3.7.2.8 or later for 24/7); not HomeBase 2, Mini or NVR | 32 GB on board, and a microSD slot up to 256 GB | Detachable 5.5 W solar panel and a swappable battery |
| eufyCam C37 | HomeBase Mini (V4.0.5.6 or later), S380 (V3.7.8.4 or later), or Pro S1 for the 4K version; not HomeBase 2 | No built-in storage: without a HomeBase it needs a microSD card, up to 256 GB, to record | Detachable 3 W solar panel |
| eufyCam C35 | HomeBase Mini, which comes in the kit; not HomeBase 2 | No built-in storage: microSD up to 256 GB in the camera | Battery, on a magnet, rope or screw mount |
| SoloCam S340 | No hub needed; S380 (V3.3.2.6 or later) adds eufy's BionicMind recognition | 8 GB built in | Removable solar panel and built-in battery |
| SoloCam E42 | Optional HomeBase S380 or S280 | microSD up to 128 GB | Built-in solar; 24/7 only on wired power with a HomeBase 3 and a hard drive |
| 4G LTE Cam S330 | No hub needed; S380 in Wi-Fi mode only | Not stated on the UK page | Solar plus a 9,400 mAh battery |
| TrackLight Cam S1 | HomeBase 3, HomeBase Mini, Pro S1, NVR S4 or Smart Display E10 | microSD, or the hub | 5.5 W solar on a 2 m cable, or a 5 V, 2 A USB-C supply |
| Wired Cam C31 | HomeBase Mini | microSD up to 256 GB | Wired, recording 24/7 |
| Window Camera E10 | Works alone, or with S380, Mini or Pro S1; not HomeBase 2 | microSD up to 256 GB, recording 24/7 | Wired, indoors behind the glass |
How eufy installation is priced
A vetted pro prices your job from the eufy model, photos of where each device goes and what power is there now, and the JACK app shows you that fixed price before you book.
The power and the walls move the price more than the device does. A battery doorbell on a brick reveal, or a SoloCam on a fence post, is a smaller job. An S4 Wired doorbell on a new transformer, a HomeBase moved to the middle of the house with a hard drive fitted, a Floodlight Camera E340 in place of an outside light, or four PoE cameras cabled through solid brick and a loft all take longer, and the price reflects that.
The eufy kit is yours to buy, since JACK sells no devices. A stronger transformer, a Chime 2, a wedge, a floodlight's weatherproof box or extra Cat cable is agreed with you and added at cost before you book, and several devices go on one booking for one price. Where parking has to be paid for, that is added at cost and agreed before you book too.
Prefer to pay for time? As a guide, smart home work is typically £45–£95 per hour, and electrical work such as a floodlight camera £55–£110 per hour. For a multi-camera system or a PoE NVR, a full-day booking is a flat £350–£400 for up to 8 hours on site.
How it works
Step 1
Send the kit and the spots
Name the eufy model or kit (the T-code on the box helps) and add photos of each wall, door or light it is going on, plus the transformer label and chime for a wired doorbell and a photo of your router.
Step 2
See the price, pick a time
A vetted pro prices the job from what you sent, with any transformer, chime, junction box or cable listed at cost. Book when you are happy with it; evenings and weekends are available when pros have them.
Step 3
Fitted, paired and handed over
The pro updates the HomeBase, pairs each device, fixes it at the right height, sets motion and privacy zones and shows you round the eufy app. You follow it all in the JACK app.
Frequently asked questions
Do eufy cameras need a HomeBase?
Some do: the eufyCam S3 Pro works only with a HomeBase S380, and eufy's UK page sets the C35 up through the HomeBase Mini that comes in its kit. The eufyCam S4, SoloCam S340 and 4G LTE Cam S330 record without one, and a HomeBase S380 can take the S4's storage up to 16 TB with a drive.
Can eufy cameras record 24/7?
Only some, and usually only on wired power. The Window Camera E10 and Wired Cam C31 record 24/7, the SoloCam E42 does so on wired power with a HomeBase 3 and a hard drive, and a eufyCam S4 paired with a HomeBase S380 needs firmware V3.7.2.8 or later for it. The SoloCam S340, C35 and C37 do not record 24/7.
Can you fit eufy cameras without drilling?
Some models are made for it: the C35 mounts by magnet or rope, and the Window Camera E10 sticks to the inside of the glass. Most eufyCams and SoloCams screw to the wall, and in a rented home or leasehold flat the pro asks for the landlord's or freeholder's agreement before drilling an outside wall.
Is it legal to have a eufy camera that sees the street?
Yes, but GOV.UK says that once a home camera captures people beyond your boundary, UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply to you. Its checklist asks whether you need the camera at all, says to place it to capture as little beyond your property as possible, tell your neighbours, delete footage once it is no longer needed and answer requests for copies.
How much does eufy camera installation cost in London?
The pro sets a fixed price from your photos and the number of cameras, shown in the JACK app before you book. Height, ladder access, solar panels mounted apart from the camera and HomeBase work move the price, and a system of several cameras can suit a full-day booking.
