Aqara · What Aqara installation costs depend on
What Decides the Cost of Aqara Installation in London?
Updated
Aqara has no home installation service in the UK, so what fitting it costs depends on who does it and what your home needs. On JACK it is one fixed price, set from photos before you book. This is what a pro weighs, from a single radiator head to a lock, doorbell and hub on one visit.
In short
The price follows the work around the devices: for a lock, whether your door passes Aqara's checks and needs a new cylinder or an adjustment; for switches, the back-box depth, the neutral and the earth; for a doorbell, the transformer, plug-in or PoE route; and for a hub, how many devices are paired and into which app. A vetted JACK pro in London turns your photos into one fixed price shown in the app before you book, with hourly guides of £45–£95 for smart-home work, £55–£110 for electrical work and £60–£130 for locksmith work. You buy the Aqara devices, and any accessories are added at cost and agreed first.

What moves the price of an Aqara smart lock?
The door, more than the lock:
- A U600 on a lift-to-lock multipoint within Aqara's measurements is a handle and cylinder swap, after Aqara's fit checks, with your old parts handed back
- Any stiffness in the multipoint is sorted first: in Aqara's words, a smart lock cannot fix mechanical issues
- A U200 over a cylinder that meets Aqara's rules is a fixing and calibration job; a cylinder without the emergency function, or with a key too thick or long for the unit, adds a replacement at cost
- Wiring the U200's keypad, instead of running it on AAA batteries, adds a 12–24 V supply at 0.5 A and its cable route
- A U500 rim lock means drilling a timber door, usually for a new 50 mm hole, and a frame that sits flush with the door
Lock jobs book under the locksmith service. If your insurer has to agree to a lock, ask before you book.
Which Aqara lock fits your door? What moves the price of Aqara switch work?
Mostly what is behind the plate:
- Box depth: the H2 sits 30 mm into the wall, so a 25 mm box is cut out for a deeper one and the wall made good
- Neutral: without one the choice of switch narrows and the bulb loads are checked, and bringing a neutral down from the ceiling rose adds a cable run
- Earth: on a circuit with no earth at the switch, the pro chooses a switch and plate that do not need one
- Positions: each switch is its own box, and a light worked from two places adds a wireless remote switch
Switch and relay work books under electrical work. Ask your pro for a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate once it is done.
Aqara switches, neutrals and back boxesWhat moves the price of an Aqara doorbell or camera?
Power, mostly:
- A G4 or G410 on batteries: fixing, a Wi-Fi check at the door and setting up the indoor unit
- On bell wire, the G4 and G410 need at least 12 V AC, so an 8 V transformer is replaced or a 12 V DC plug-in supply is run instead
- A G400 Wired needs a transformer of the right size, or an Ethernet run from a PoE switch
- A Camera Hub G5 Pro PoE needs a PoE switch, which Aqara's listing says is bought separately, and each cable route through a wall or loft sets the time
- For cameras on first-floor eaves or gables, your pro can ask another pro on JACK to help through the Pro2Pro feature
What moves the price of hub set-up?
Hub jobs are mostly set-up time:
- How many devices are paired, named and tested
- Whether they stay in Aqara Home or also go into Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa or Home Assistant through Matter
- Moving devices and automations from an older Aqara hub to a Hub M3
- Where the hub goes: a PoE cable to a central spot, or close to the router, which Aqara's M3 listing puts at no more than 6 m away
What changes the work on heating, curtains and blinds?
These jobs turn on what is already there:
- Radiator thermostats: each W600 head screws onto an M30 × 1.5 valve, or onto one of the six valve types Aqara supplies adapters for (RA, RAV, RAVL, Caleffi, Giacomini and M28 × 1.5); a smart head needs a thermostatic valve body, so a manual valve is replaced first, which is plumbing work
- Curtain Driver E1: fitting it to your track or pole, which has to be a type Aqara supports
- Aqara's 230 V roller-blind motors need a fixed mains supply, usually a fused spur from an existing circuit, which adds electrical work
- Anything at the boiler is not part of a JACK booking: JACK sends it to a Gas Safe registered engineer
One set of photos sets one fixed price for the whole Aqara job
Several Aqara devices, and other brands, can go on one booking. Pros on JACK work in London only. Send:
- A list of the Aqara models, and what each should do
- Photos of the front door inside and out, each switch, the bell transformer's label and each radiator valve involved
- Where your router is, and where the hub could go
- For a flat or a rental, any consent you already have
Parking and accessories, such as a cylinder, back box, transformer or PoE switch, are added at cost and agreed before you book. If you would rather book time, a full day on site of up to 8 hours is a flat £350–£400.

How is Aqara installation priced in London?
A vetted pro prices your Aqara job from the models and your photos, and the JACK app shows that fixed price before you book.
What the job touches moves the price more than the device does. Pairing a hub, fixing sensors, clipping a Curtain Driver E1 onto a rail or fitting radiator thermostat heads is set-up work. A smart lock is locksmith work on the door. An H1 or H2 switch, a Dual Relay Module T2 or a 230 V blind motor is mains work on an existing circuit, priced for isolating, connecting and testing.
The home comes next: a multipoint door that needs adjusting before a lock goes on, a bell transformer too weak for the doorbell, a PoE cable through solid brick. Where a job needs a second pair of hands, your pro can ask another pro on JACK to help through the Pro2Pro feature. Several devices, Aqara or other brands, go on one booking for one fixed price.
You buy the Aqara products; JACK does not sell them. Accessories the job needs, such as a replacement cylinder, a deeper back box, a 12 V plug-in supply or a PoE injector, are agreed and added at cost before you book, and so is parking where it has to be paid for. Prefer to pay for time? As a guide, hourly hire is typically £45–£95 per hour for smart home work, £55–£110 for electrical work and £60–£130 for locksmith work, and a full-day handyman booking is a flat £350–£400 for up to 8 hours on site.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a set price for Aqara installation in London?
Not a list price, but a fixed one: a JACK pro prices your devices and your home from photos, and you see that price in the JACK app before you book. If you would rather pay for time, the guide rates are £45–£95 per hour for smart-home work, £55–£110 for electrical work and £60–£130 for locksmith work.
Does Aqara offer installation in the UK?
We found no Aqara home installation service in the UK. A JACK pro fits Aqara devices you have bought, for a fixed price shown before you book, and JACK is not affiliated with Aqara (Lumi United Technology Co., Ltd.).
How much does it cost to have a smart lock fitted in London?
It depends on the door and the lock. A JACK locksmith fixes the price from photos of your door and cylinder before you book, and a U200 over a suitable cylinder is a lighter job than a U500 that means drilling a timber door. Hourly locksmith hire is typically £60–£130 per hour, as a guide.
Is the Aqara device included in the price?
No. You buy the Aqara device from any UK seller, since JACK does not sell devices. Anything else the job needs, a cylinder, back box or transformer for instance, is added at cost and agreed with you before you book.
Can I book a pro for a whole day of Aqara set-up?
Yes. A full day is a flat £350–£400 for up to 8 hours on site, which suits a whole-home set-up of locks, switches, sensors and a hub, or Aqara alongside other jobs.
