tado° Smart Radiator Thermostat V3+ Installation in London

Updated

The tado° Smart Radiator Thermostat V3+ is the radiator head for V3+ systems, and the Smart Radiator Thermostat Basic shares its model code. tado°'s UK shop still sold singles, add-ons and Quattro packs on 31 October 2026. A vetted JACK pro fits them in London to extend a V3+ home room by room, for a fixed price before you book.

In short

Yes. A vetted JACK pro in London fits tado° Smart Radiator Thermostat V3+ heads, including the Basic, on radiators that already have thermostatic valves, and adds them to your existing V3+ Home. They work with the V3+ Internet Bridge, not with tado° X devices, so they suit homes that already run V3+.

How the Smart Radiator Thermostat V3+ is powered and mounted

tado° tells V3+ owners to grow their system with V3+ add-ons, because X devices cannot join a V3+ Home. These heads are how a V3+ home with a wired thermostat or the wireless kit gains room-by-room control.

The fitting is the same kind of job as any smart head: the old thermostatic head is unscrewed, the new one goes on the valve body, and the room is set up in the app. Radiators with manual valves need a thermostatic valve body fitted first, which is plumbing.

What the pro checks first

  • That the home already runs tado° V3+, with an Internet Bridge on the router
  • Each valve's make, thread and condition
  • Radiators with manual valves that need replacing first

What the pro does on the Smart Radiator Thermostat V3+

  • Valves checked for make, leaks and seizing before any head comes off
  • Old heads unscrewed by their own nut, never the valve fitting
  • V3+ heads fitted, with an adapter where the valve needs one
  • Each head added to its room in the existing V3+ Home

Before you book: what to send

  • A close-up photo of one or two radiator valves
  • How many radiators, and which rooms
  • Confirmation that your current tado° system is V3+ (an Internet Bridge on the router)

How tado° installation is priced

A vetted pro prices your job from photos of the boiler, your existing controls and the tado° kit, and the JACK app shows you that fixed price before you book.

Frequently asked questions

Can I mix V3+ and X radiator thermostats?

Not in one Home. tado° says X and V3+ devices cannot be used together in the same Home. Pick the line that matches your thermostat or bridge.

What is the difference between the V3+ and the Basic?

tado° gives both the same model code, VA02, and sells the Basic in Quattro packs for multi-room control. Either fits the same way on the valve.

How much does tado° Smart Radiator Thermostat V3+ installation cost in London?

It is a fixed price for your Smart Radiator Thermostat V3+, worked out by a vetted pro from the model, a photo of where it is going and what power is there now, and shown in the JACK app before you book. Other devices can go on the same booking for one price. If you would rather pay for time, hourly hire for smart home is typically £45–£95 per hour as a guide.
