Moving House With West Elm Furniture in London: Take Apart and Rebuild

West Elm beds, armoires, desks and dining tables are built to stay put, so most need taking apart to get out of one home and into the next. A vetted JACK pro dismantles them before your removal firm arrives and rebuilds them in the new home, for a fixed price before you book.

In short

A JACK pro takes your West Elm furniture apart before the move, bags and labels every fitting, and rebuilds it in your new London home on a second visit. JACK does not transport furniture, so your removal firm carries it between the two.

How a move works

Two visits, one fixed price:

  • Visit one, before the removal firm: beds, armoires, desks and tables taken apart, fittings bagged and labelled per piece
  • Your removal firm moves everything
  • Visit two, at the new home: each piece rebuilt, levelled and fixed to the wall where needed
  • Sofas: legs and modular sections separated and rejoined; fixed frames stay as they are

Second-hand West Elm

Bought a West Elm piece second-hand? The same applies:

  • The seller or you take it apart for collection, or a pro does it at the seller's home in London
  • It is rebuilt at yours, with worn fittings flagged so you can replace them
  • Send the model name and photos, especially if the instructions are missing

How West Elm assembly is priced

A vetted pro prices your piece from the product link and a photo of the room, and the JACK app shows you that fixed price before you book.

The design moves the price far more than the size. A side table with screw-in legs is a short job. A solid-wood bed with a slatted base, a six-drawer dresser with runners to align, or a sectional sofa whose pieces clip together is a much longer one. Send the product link or a screenshot of the order so the price is for the piece you bought.

Several pieces from one delivery, such as a bed, two nightstands and a dresser, go on one booking for one price. Pieces from other shops can go on the same visit. Where parking has to be paid for, it is added at cost and agreed before you book.

Prefer to pay for the pro's time? Hourly hire works too: as a guide, furniture assembly is typically £35–£75 per hour. For a big delivery, a full-day handyman booking often suits: a flat £350–£400 for up to 8 hours on site.

Frequently asked questions

Can JACK move the furniture too?

No. JACK books pros to take furniture apart and rebuild it, and does not transport it. Book a removal firm for the move itself.
