How the Mid-Century Modular Desk Set arrives
A modular desk is three pieces that have to agree: if one cabinet sits higher than the other, the top rocks or slopes. Levelling them on your floor is the main job.

How West Elm assembly is priced
A vetted pro prices your piece from the product link and a photo of the room, and the JACK app shows you that fixed price before you book.
The design moves the price far more than the size. A side table with screw-in legs is a short job. A solid-wood bed with a slatted base, a six-drawer dresser with runners to align, or a sectional sofa whose pieces clip together is a much longer one. Send the product link or a screenshot of the order so the price is for the piece you bought.
Several pieces from one delivery, such as a bed, two nightstands and a dresser, go on one booking for one price. Pieces from other shops can go on the same visit. Where parking has to be paid for, it is added at cost and agreed before you book.
Prefer to pay for the pro's time? Hourly hire works too: as a guide, furniture assembly is typically £35–£75 per hour. For a big delivery, a full-day handyman booking often suits: a flat £350–£400 for up to 8 hours on site.
How it works
Step 1
Share the piece and the room
Paste the West Elm product link or a screenshot of your order (not delivered yet? the link is enough to price from) and add a photo of the room. Mention stairs, a lift or a tight turn on the landing.
Step 2
See the price, pick a slot
A vetted pro prices the build from what you sent. Book once you are happy with the price, choosing a slot after your delivery date; evenings and weekends are available when pros have them.
Step 3
Built, checked, handed over
Parts are counted first, the piece is built and levelled, drawers and doors adjusted, tall pieces anchored and the packaging flattened for recycling. You follow it all in the JACK app.
