How the Cayman Platform Bed arrives

The Cayman comes two ways. The platform on its own sits just 29 cm high, for a low, modern look; the bed set adds a 104 cm bedhead, bringing the overall height to 118 cm. Check which you ordered: the build and the room it needs are quite different.

Its timber frame is heavy for a low bed, at up to about 68 kg for a super king, so it is built in the bedroom rather than carried up built.

What the pro does on the Cayman Platform Bed

  • Rails and platform frame joined and squared on blankets
  • Slats laid at their spacing and supports set to the floor
  • Bedhead fitted on the bed-set version
  • Bolts tightened in sequence and re-checked; Pottery Barn notes the hardware can loosen over time
  • Packaging flattened and stacked for recycling

Before you book: what to send

  • Size, and whether it is the platform only or the set with bedhead
  • A photo of the bedroom and stairs
  • Any Cayman bedside tables or chest in the same delivery

How Pottery Barn assembly is priced

A vetted pro prices your piece from the product link and a photo of the room, and the JACK app shows you that fixed price before you book.

Weight and design move the price most. A Cayman bedside table is a short job; a Farmhouse super king, an Aptos canopy bed or a Farmhouse trestle table is a long one. If a job needs a second pair of hands, your pro can ask another pro on JACK to help through the Pro2Pro feature.

Several pieces from one delivery go on one booking for one price, and pieces from West Elm or any other shop can go on the same visit. Where parking has to be paid for, it is added at cost and agreed before you book.

Prefer to pay for the pro's time? As a guide, furniture assembly is typically £35–£75 per hour, and a full-day handyman booking is a flat £350–£400 for up to 8 hours on site.

How it works

Step 1

Share the piece and the room

Paste the Pottery Barn product link or a screenshot of your order and add a photo of the room. Mention stairs, a lift or a tight landing.

Step 2

See the price, pick a slot

A vetted pro prices the build. Book once you are happy with the price, choosing a slot after your delivery date.

Step 3

Built, checked, handed over

Parts counted, the piece built and levelled, drawers adjusted, tall pieces anchored and packaging flattened for recycling. You follow it all in the JACK app.

Frequently asked questions

Can a bedhead be added to a Cayman platform bed later?

Send the bedhead product link and a photo of your platform. Pottery Barn's delivery team does not attach headboards to existing frames, so this is a job a JACK pro can do separately.

How much does it cost to have a Pottery Barn Cayman Platform Bed assembled in London?

It is a fixed price for your Cayman Platform Bed, worked out by a vetted pro from the product link and a photo of the room, and shown in the JACK app before you book. If you would rather pay for time, hourly hire is typically £35–£75 per hour as a guide, and a full day is a flat £350–£400 for up to 8 hours on site.
